The first month of 2025 sure posed some challenges when it came to flying, but we managed to get all 4 scheduled days in. The first two were marked by snow, the deepest snow (over 6 inches in many spots) many could remember on the range. Saturday was cold and breezy at times keeping the number of flights down, however, the sun came out strong on Sunday and with light winds it was down right comfortable.
The first launch weekend in January saw a total of 58 flights from 1/2A to M power, breakdown below.
Saturday: 3 High-Power and about 18 Mid and Low-Power.
Sunday: 21 High-Power and 16 Mid and Low-Power.
The majority of the snow had melted by the second launch in January, however, that resulted is a good deal of deep sticky mud especially around the range head and the launch pads. The weather was clear both days with very manageable winds blowing in an optimal direction that allowed a few flyers to push the 1 mile mark in altitude with the highest flight of the weekend topping out at 5,500′.
In total, 59 flights from A to K power took to the skies, detailed breakdown below:
Saturday: 13 High-Power and 12 Mid and Low-Power.
Sunday: 15 High-Power and 19 Mid and Low-Power.
A huge thank you to our friend Victor Newman of Victor Newman Photography for his amazing pictures. Please Also, a huge thank you to Matt, Paul, Robert, Ken and everyone else who sent in pictures.

Clusters are always fun and this was one of the best 4 motor clusters that has graced BattlePark in some time. A classic Loc Precision Viper 4 on 4 Estes E12s. The flight was as good as it could be with a perfect recovery.

Beautiful liftoff on an Aerotech F67 Classic.
Great liftoff and flight of a very old Estes kit as the Pathfinder was only produced in the late 1980s. This one is flying on a Quest F41.

The WildMan Drago 4 “EX-1127” flew twice on Sunday January 12th. First on an EX J689 ‘Turbo’ then on an Aerotech I435 Blue Thunder. Both flights were 100% successful.

A custom build called No Limits flying on an EX K1130. Just over 1,800 Ns from the 5 grain 54mm motor took this rocket to 4,000 feet. Recovery was absolutely perfect.

Huge thank you to Victor for this fantastic series of the DARE 101 flying on an I280 Dark Matter!

A few great liftoff pictures of some Estes cluster flights

Another great series from Victor of a carbon fiber wrapped LOC Precision Laser Loc 313 on an EX J604 turbo. This one hit 3,700 feet.
